Tiffany Barber is a contemporary figurative painter based in Brighton.  Born in Scotland, she was raised as an athlete but always strived to be an artist. The disciplined nature of her athletic upbringing is reflected in the meticulously detailed artworks she creates. After spending four years at Edinburgh College of Art and a period at the Hungarian University of Fine Art, Tiffany's passion for classical architecture and sculpture strengthened.

Tiffany's fascination with the grandeur of renaissance art contrasted with banal, everyday life forms the basis for her solo exhibition 'Renaissance Resurrected'. The fusion of classic and contemporary, styles helps to provoke a dialogue concerning current social and political issues.  The paintings encourage us to dissect the concepts behind them through their relatable imagery, assisting us to build a bridge between the old and the new.  The concepts are taken further by altering the sculptures natural settings & isolating them into the abyss.

The Sculptures depicted are specifically chosen for their concept, and the mythology and tableaux featured. The purpose for the creation of these artworks is for people to share ideas and thoughts based around the subject matter. Although there are concepts and ideas for each piece, the artist encourages us to think for ourselves and how we individually relate to the imagery. Art is for everyone and there is no right or wrong way to decipher it.
