FEELINGS THAT FLOW
June 25th, 2021- November 1st, 2021
Albinist Llugiqi is an Albanian/Kosovar artist who lives and works in South London. His background in art is multi faceted and has seen Llugiqi experience the industry from the perspective of a gallerist as well as an exhibiting artist.
'Feelings That Flow' was Llugiqi's debut solo show at The Lauderdale Gallery. The exhibition showcased a selection of his digitally infused works, which originated as hand painted, watercolour studies and were then enhanced further, using a range of other media and complex digital editing techniques.
The works shown display the artists fluency in expressing movement and form using striking, bold hues and explore both strength and delicacy of the female figure; two opposing concepts which are represented by the juxtaposition of colour throughout the collection.

FEELINGS THAT FLOW WITHIN
One of the artist's latest works; the piece centres around a mysterious figure depicted in layers of contrasting watercolour which combine effortlessly, creating the impression it was painted in a single stroke. The piece originated as a sketch on paper before watercolour was layered on top. Finally, the colours were heightened through digital means.

CHRISTINA
This portrait of the model Christina Nadin, shown in profile with her hair pulled into a loose updo is a classic example of Llugiqi's use of contrasting colours. The cool toned green of the subjects skin, juxtaposed against the vibrant
gradient of the background creates a striking effect. Llugiqi adopts this collage like approach in a series of works as he enjoys the visual tension that placing opposing colours next to one another creates.

BLACK PANTHER
This piece depicts a panther, jaws stretched as it expels a primitive roar. Sketched onto watercolour paper from a photograph of a live panther, the study was then edited digitally to provide depth to the inky black of the panthers coat. The artist has intentionally sketched using loose, visible strokes to indicate the texture of the fur. The final product is a monochrome piece which encapsulates the fierce and feral energy of the wild beast.

PURPLE ELECTRICITY
Swipes of punchy violet, accented with neon pink form the figure of a woman, her body elongated as she stretches upwards. The placement of luminous highlights give the impression that there is electricity coursing through the subject's body.

SKIN DEEP
Skin Deep demonstrates Llugiqi's talent for expressing movement using cleverly placed accents and deep colour contrasts. The central figure appears lustrous, as if cast in solid gold. This piece speaks for itself, however it is further complemented when displayed in tandem with Purple Electricity.

ST. VALENTINES
The comparison between the original watercolour piece and the final digital version is drastic, and is a typical product of Llugiqi's complex process. St. Valentines exemplifies the artist's imagination and penchant for contrasting hues.

VISIONS OF YOU
Visions of You blends traditional techniques with digital treatment to create a chaotic and lively piece with plenty of personality. The original watercolour figure is layered multiple times, creating a moiré effect and flecks of crimson are juxtaposed with darker tones in the piece; creating depth.

NIGHT DREAMING
Night dreaming features a more muted colour palette, whilst still retaining the central theme of contrast which connects Llugiqi's work. The deep indigo background is punctuated by a continuous, flowing line which assembles to create the form of a woman. Night dreaming is yet another successful product of the artist's willingness to experiment with unexpected compositions.

PATTERNS OF LOVE
Based on the same original sketch as ‘Night Dreaming’ this piece demonstrates Llugiqi’s ability to create completely new variations of the same work which look almost unrelated.
